Russian Crab Company Group reports operational results for 9 months of 2021

13 October 2021

For three quarters of this year, Russian Crab Company Group reached 79% of its quota utilization for crab catch within the Far Eastern Basin, which corresponds to the level of the same period of the last year. The company remains the leader in terms of catch among the regional crab harvesting companies, its figure as of the reporting date reached 9.9 thousand tons.

In January-September 2021 Russian Crab Company Group exported 6.85 thousand tons of products. It is 8% more than in the comparable period of the previous year. The company’s share in all-Russia crab exports increased to 14% (+1% p.p. by 9M2020).

«The most receptive markets for the company are China for live products and the USA for cooked-frozen products. Since the beginning of the year, supplies to these countries amounted to 3.4 thousand tons and 2.1 thousand tons of crab, respectively. High purchasing power of these importing countries has a significant impact on the situation in the premium-quality crab market and increases a demand for the Russian delicacy in other markets. In particular, Japanese buyers increased import of our products fivefold this year» — said Vladimir Tulupov, Advisor to the General Director for Commercial Activities and Marketing of Russian Crab Company Group.

As part of the «keel quota» investment program, shipyards continue to build vessels for the new fleet of Russian Crab Company Group. In July, the keel of the fourth of seven vessels, project 5712LS, intended for catching and transporting live crab was laid at the Onega Ship Building and Repair Yard; in August, metal cutting for the fifth vessel was made. The Oka Shipyard continues to work on forming the hulls of three crab processors, project 5712P.
